Aspect IT vs Web Apps UK in a charity football match!

We will be taking on another Oldham-based business in a charity football match to raise funds for the

September 5th is International Charity Day which gives us the perfect opportunity for us to tell you about our participation and hosting of a charity football match on Thursday 13th September 2018.

We will be going head to head with another Oldham-based business, Web Applications UK supporting the Alzheimer’s Society; a charity that is dedicated to helping those affected by dementia.

Why we organised the event

2018 marks Aspect IT’s 15th work anniversary, so we decided to celebrate by asking Web Applications if they would like to take on the challenge of going against us in a football match. At the same time we wanted to take this event to raise money for charity.

We chose the Alzheimer’s Society as it is an organization significant to our Director, Ian Howarth, whose family have recently been affected by the disease.

To raise even more funds, we will donate £15 for every goal scored, up to a maximum of £200. We have also set up a Just Giving page to help boost and encourage donations to be made by you.

Peter is excited!

“We’re thrilled to be able to celebrate the last fifteen years as a team, doing something we all enjoy. It’s great to be able to get out of the office and do activities together outside of work. We’re confident we’ll be the winning team of course, but the main thing is to bring our team together, whilst raising money for a fantastic cause.”

Where it all started

It all started back in 2003 when Peter Dorotiak and Ian Howarth founded the business. Aspect IT offers a wide range of services including IT Support, Consultancy, Website design and Software Development across Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire.

Peter graduated from the University of Huddersfield in 1997 with an undergraduate degree in Computing in Business. He then went on to join a multinational Computer Science Corporation where he used his skills of Software Development to take part in projects such as Kwik-Fit and NatWest.

Ian received an undergraduate degree in Computer Science in 1986 from the University of Bradford. He began his career in a large, British computer hardware, software and services business.

If you’ve had a website or a piece of software designed by us then you will have seen the skills of Peter who takes on the Software Development projects where as Ian manages the IT and technical side of the business.

Both of their ambitions for the future of the business is to expand and double the workforce, building on its portfolio and have a greater emphasis on Cyber Security.
