We’ve already got website cookies that tries to populate our searches with advertisements from what we previously searched. Well Google will now be populating your search page with subjects and topics that you search for in their latest makeover!
Based on your search history, Google will work out what your hobbies and interests are and compile it all in to a news feed that you can engage with. It will constantly keep updating so there is no outdated information to populate your timeline.
How it will work
The timeline/feed will appear as a tab on Android in the app, which will allow you to click and open it which will then give you a feed full of your interests and the latest news, but it will constantly update throughout the day so you’re never behind.
It will most definitely save you time from browsing manually your hobbies and interests (e.g. football) so you’ll be the first to know on the hottest and latest news.
Who is the feature available to?
Usually when something gets released, it’s not available to everyone yet. This is because if you make something available immediately to everyone and there’s some sort of technical issue, you’ve got everyone to deal with and it will cause issues for everyone. If you release it to a small group of people (we say small but things like this are massive in our eyes) then there’s only a small amount of people to deal with compared to literally everyone.
It has been released globally, but only to Android users for the moment. It will eventually be available to iOS users and then be available on Google’s mobile site.
Does it invade your privacy?
It does invade your privacy to a certain extent, however you can turn it off on Androids. We will be posting a blog very soon on how to do this so stay tuned on our website and keep on our Social Media for updates!
