Microsoft have now release their Word Flow keyboard for IOS and Android in the USA.

Although not yet available in Europe, we believe it is something that IOS and Android small business users should be aware of.

So why should anybody concern themselves with just a simple app? Well, simple it is not!

This keyboard has been available on Windows phones for a while and has been very popular.

The main features are pretty much standard, predictive texting, auto-correct, and the more you use it, the more it learns. The keyboard background can also be customized, so you can have photo as the background if you so wish. Therefore Microsoft’s alternative keyboard is worth a look and does offer a very good alternative to the standard Apple keyboard.

However, the best feature is the ‘Arc’ mode. In Arc mode, Word Flow moves the keyboard to the corner of the screen, as shown in the above picture, which allows you to use your thumb for typing. It is very easy to use and makes your one-handed typing so much easier.

For the busy professional, Word Flow lets you type one-handed even quicker, so that can’t be a bad thing for all those busy people!

But why have Microsoft bothered to even release it to IOS and Android? Well, Apple initially blocked developers from writing keyboard apps, but this is no longer the case from IOS8 upwards. We believe Microsoft just want to broaden their market share, showing other tech users what they are capable of and increasing Microsoft’s exposure.

Whatever the reason, we like having the choice!
