Welcome to the 18th edition of Aspect IT’s newsletter, The View.

Goodbye Dan!

Good Luck!

Unfortunately this week we’ve had to say a very emotional goodbye to valued team member, Dan Melia. Some of you may know Dan if you’ve ever called our IT helpdesk and had the pleasure of speaking to him!

He’s a lovely chap and we’ve really enjoyed working alongside Dan for the last year. We’re so sad to see him go but we wish him the best of luck in the future! See you again soon Dan!

How to Choose the Right Server for Your Business

Server

Servers are an important central component in many businesses today. But acquiring one can be a big decision! Modern servers can either be installed locally within the business or delivered across the internet through the cloud as a service. There are several simple ways to
decide which type of server is the right choice for your business. So we’ve put together a few pointers below.

Mobility: Businesses that need to deliver network services and software to many different locations, offices and devices may want to consider a cloud based server. This allows the business to be mobile instead of tied to a single location holding physical servers.
Support: If your business doesn’t have an IT department, support may need to be outsourced.
Budgeting: A cloud based server has lower start up costs than in-house network servers. Maintenance costs should also be calculated for long term budgeting.
Space: Take space into consideration, do you have the space to hold a physical server or would a cloud based server be more practical?
Data: Purchasing a new server means understanding how your business uses data. How much memory and storage does your server need? If you need help with understanding this aspect of your business, don’t hesitate to get in touch!
Future Growth: Anticipate future growth. How many people will be accessing your network now and in the future?
